Early 16th Century Nuremberg Brass Alms Dish

The centre, decorated with the figures of Adam and Eve - stood to either side of a tree, the serpent wrapped around the trunk, and set within a background of flowers and plants.

Encircling the centre panel is a band of Gothic script, with an upcurved boodge enriched with gadrooning. The rim has two bands of punched decoration, and a rolled outer edge.

Good condition, colour and weight.

Nuremberg circa 1520-50.

Diameter 15.5 inches (39 cm).
